  • My name is Maximilian Filsinger. I am a Maître de Conférences/Assistant Professor in Comparative Politics at the European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL) at the Université Catholique de Lille. Before that I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bern. I hold a Ph.D. from the University of Bern. My main research interests lie at the intersection of political sociology, political psychology, political behavior and comparative politics. I am particularly interested in (affective) polarization, populism and more generally challenges to democracy and democratic societies. My work has been published in top-field journals, such as the European Journal of Political Research, European Union Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and West European Politics. Methodologically, I have applied a variety of quantitative approaches making use of original cross-sectional and longitudinal survey data as well as survey experiments.
