Intergenerational Fairness and the Welfare State in the Age of Inequality, Demographic Transformation, and Technological Change
The WELFAIR project addresses the urgent challenge of intergenerational fairness in Europe, examining how inequality, technological transformations and demographic change affect solidarity between generations. It aims to develop new conceptual and empirical tools to better understand and measure intergenerational fairness and support evidence-based policymaking. This 4-year project (September 2026 – August 2030) brings together 13 partners from 10 European countries and is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe programme.
