Do I need to have an excellent level of language skills to join ESPOL?

We expect you to have a good level of French as a secondary school student, but our aim is to have you at a near-bilingual level by the end of your course. To achieve this, the school has put in place a number of measures to help you progress:
Progressive English classes: The proportion of English classes increases over the years, allowing everyone to adapt at their own pace.
Level groups for language courses: Students are divided into groups according to their level, so that they can benefit from teaching adapted to their needs.
Placement tests at the beginning of the year: These tests are used to determine the most appropriate level group for each student.

The important thing is to be motivated and to want to progress. Here are a few additional points to remember:
English is the most important language at ESPOL, as many courses and documents are in English. It is therefore essential to have a sufficient command of this language to be able to take the courses and pass your exams.
Proficiency in a second foreign language is a definite advantage. It will enable you to stand out from the other students and open up new opportunities for you.
ESPOL encourages international mobility. If you want to go on an Erasmus course or do a work placement abroad, a good level of language skills will be essential.
