  • Andrew Glencross has been the Director of ESPOL since June 2023 and is a Professor of Political Science. Originally from the north of England, he graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Social and Political Studies and an M.Phil. in Historical Studies. A former Joseph Hodges Choate Fellow at Harvard University (2000-2001), he completed his doctoral thesis at the European University Institute in Florence under the supervision of Friedrich Kratochwil. From 2008 to 2010, he was a lecturer in International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon returning to Europe in 2010, he taught at several institutions, including the Universities of Aberdeen, Stirling, and Aston, before joining ESPOL in September 2021. He has also been a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia and an Associate Editor for ECPR Press. His research focuses on European integration, EU-UK relations, and the geopolitics of EU foreign policy. Andrew Glencross is bilingual in English and French.
