The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship, funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, represents an exceptional opportunity for international students wishing to pursue their studies in France.

What is the Eiffel Scholarship?

The Eiffel Programme aims to attract the best international students and offer them the opportunity to pursue a Master’s or Doctorate degree at a French higher education institution. At ESPOL, this scholarship will allow you to deepen your knowledge and skills in political science while enjoying a rich academic and cultural experience.

Scholarship Benefits

Eiffel scholarship recipients receive numerous financial and practical advantages:

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Eiffel Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be under 29 years old for a Master’s application
  • Hold non-French citizenship (French nationals are not eligible)
  • Have not previously received an Eiffel Scholarship at another level of study
  • Demonstrate excellent academic performance and strong potential in their chosen field

How to Apply via ESPOL

Students cannot apply directly to the Eiffel Scholarship. Applications must be submitted by ESPOL on behalf of the candidate.

If you wish to be nominated by ESPOL, please follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a complete application file, including:
    • A detailed CV
    • A motivation letter for the Eiffel Scholarship
    • A copy of your passport
    • Copies of your higher education diplomas and transcripts (with translations if necessary)
    • For Master’s applications: proof of language proficiency matching the program’s requirements (C1 level — applications with B2 level may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
    • For Doctoral applications: a thesis project (1–5 pages), along with a recommendation letter from the thesis supervisor, the doctoral school director, and the laboratory director, as well as a copy of the cotutelle or co-supervision agreement
  2. Submit your complete application before ESPOL’s internal deadline: 5 December 2025.
